The SORT logo
The SORT logo was crafted by Hohepa O'Donnell, and symbolises the heart of SORT's mission. At its core lies a drop in the water, radiating outward into concentric ripples. These ripples signify the collective impact of our community—both the seasoned leaders (matua) and the younger generation (tamariki). For two decades, SORT has spearheaded community-driven efforts to restore the mauri of Piriharakeke, the cherished Manawatū River Loop at Foxton. Every individual's contribution is akin to a drop in the river, creating a ripple effect that fosters social cohesion and mobilises our community for a cause that transcends generations.
SORT has been at the forefront of this vital work, collaborating closely with iwi, hapu, the wider community, and local councils. Together, we've embarked on a journey to restore the mauri of Piriharakeke, the beloved Manawatū River Loop at Foxton. Every effort, regardless of its scale, has played a significant role in shaping the landscape we see today.
In 2023, and with permission, the logo was reproduced in multiple formats to be used across various web and digital platforms and the yellow hue was enhanced to meet accessibility requirements by the locally owned Digital Marketing & Engagement Agency, AutoFriend. This collaboration ensures that our visual identity not only represents our cause effectively but also adheres to standards that make it accessible to all.
